At Hancock Community Development Corporation (HCDC), our mission is to provide leadership, linkage and support to the community to increase economic opportunity.
Our services foster and sustain community development, generate community based partnerships, and help to empower and revitalize the Hancock Corridor and Athens Metro Community.
Employment Assistance
HCDC participates in programs providing On-the–Job training for unemployed Georgia residents. HCDC will also provide work experience for aspiring Athenians as part of the "Work Ready" program. This initiative is designed to provide Georgia youth with valuable education and trade skills.
Affordable Housing Services
The Hancock Community Development Corporation is a HUD approved counseling agency. HCDC provides pre- and post-purchase housing counseling. HCDC counseling services include: Mortgage Default and Delinquency, Foreclosure Prevention, Tenant, Homebuyer Education, and Budgeting.
Online Home-Buyer Education
HCDC provides homebuyer education to individuals and groups. We educate clients on the entire process of purchasing a home. We continue to support our clients with ongoing upkeep and maintenance training first-time homebuyers.
